Can somebody tell me how to top up a Plastimo Olympic 135 compass with the appropriate fluid I have bought specifically for this compass, after I had fixed the leak? thanks. Mario

Nope

Mario, in the latest issue of Practical Sailor, they mention that Plastimo Compasses have a sealed bowl and are not considered repairable. That being said, you might drill a very small hole in the top of the bowl, fill the compass and seal it with a caulking material. But be aware that one of the problems you might encounter if you do this is fluid leaking out when it gets hot<from the Maltese sun> and air leaking in when it gets cold.

Compass has a diaphram

Plastimo web site indicates the Olympic 135 compass has a diaphram which allows for expansion and contraction of the fuild relative to the temperature. That said, I would think it is repairable. Take it to a nautical repair shop for estimate. I had my 20 year old Aqua Meter Gemini compass refurbished for $100 including new dome. Looks like new.
