There is a 3inch crack or line in the fiberglass. It looks like a black line, right where the cockpit ends and the cabin begins. It is horizontal not vertical. It does not leak at this time. Should it be repaired or should I leave it?
Hi Jim - If the crack is fairly shallow, as I suspect, I'd leave it alone if it doesn't both you much cosmetically. If you want to repair it, you'll want to grind it open (with Dremel tool or similar), fill it with gelcoat (finding a good color match can be difficult), then sand/fair to the surrounding surface. If it were me, I'd keep an eye on it to make sure it's not getting bigger. No leak = no big problem! Best, Trevor
