OK, looks like days off and good weather are gonna happen next week. I would like to clean my O'Day Widegon that I bought about 4 months ago. The deck is just dirty and grimey but the hull has some "scuff" marks from trailer rollers. What product is the best working and the least toxic. I might can post some pics later. Michael Idiot Wind

Soft scrub with bleach
applied with a sponge and a stiff-bristle brush works well, but give it a good wax job after to protect the porous gelcoat.

For bird droppings...
Water and vinegar. The vinegar will breakdown the calcium in the poop. Water and soap will do nothing. On tough stains, I used Comet w/bleach. I wet the stain, apply the Comet, scrub then let sit for a few minutes. Scrub again and then rinse. Repeat if needed.

Arrrrghhhhh! For over three or four months now I've had a new cockpit drain plug,a new hull drain plug and a new bolt/nut with washers (2metal & 2 rubber) for my center board sitting on my computer desk. Tonight I came in to look at mail and noticed the bolt/nut were there but all washers were GONE! Noone has seen them or had anything to do with them, so I guess my dog musted have came in and unscrewed the nut and removed the washers and screwed nut back on. I sure wish I had that on tape. You could do
a Widgeon in less than an hour. Get a bucket, a bristle brush, and use SofScrub. Hose it off. It's abrasive so don't use too much or rub too hard. I can do the deck and cockpit of my 28.5 in about an hour. Not sure about the scruff marks from the trailer, but you may want to try Starbrite "Black Streak Remover." If the gelcoat really is marred, you may have use a compounding to get them out and then wax the topsides. Nice little boat.
