I just purchased a 1987 Hunter 31. I'm having work donw on her before we put her in for the season but I had a question on glass compounds and waxes. There are so many available on the market. Which ones are the best for mild oxidation and waxing?

Island Girl

Chip: Try the Island Girl System. They use synthetic steel wool and the Island Girl Pink to remove the oxidation. Then you apply their sealer and wax and it actually reconditions the gel coat. Worked on our H'31.

Used the cleaner and polish on the topsides of my 42 last weekend and I don't think it's ever looked better.

Vertglas

I used Vertglas two years ago and it still looks great. I removed the oxidation with soft scrub, then put on 5 coats of Vertglas with their applicator. I'll repeat the process this Summer on the hard. The only place where I notice a deterioration is on the stern, which is angled up and always faces East in my slip. I'd recommend it.
