I went to purchase a FF2 CDI Furler for the Mac 26x. CDI luffs are no longer in production and I have searched everywhere starting of coarse with Blue Water Yachts. I can get the all the hardware but no luff available. The FF4 is a little bigger but accommodates the same forestay specs and #6 sail luff size etc.... Besides the luff being 4 pounds heavier and a bigger cup is there any other reason why I couldn't use the FF4?

Just a larger drum, the FF4 will work fine. How old is your FF2? We offer the current model extrusion replacement only here:

Thank you for the reply.... The ff2 is very old... beat up .. was that way when I bought the boat.... A new complete system is justified . I did purchase the FF4 this morning and it's being shipped. But thank you again for the reply... it's lends confidence to my purchase and I will enjoy being able to use a thicker 1/4" furler line.
