I received an unsolicited input from Fein today for the WS14 compact angle grinder. I know the people on this site are big fans of Fein so I thought I'd share the opportunity. I already have an angle grinder so I don't need a new one. This flyer says if you buy 3 angle grinders you can get the fourth one for 1/2 price. I really don't know who would need 4 angle grinders, but in case you do let me know.

They probably think you work for a boat yard. They tend to buy tools in bulk.

Are there three of you out there that need a Fein? I'll take the fourth one. :)

I have allways found found Metabo to be a top of the class in that tool and have not had issues with Dewalt or Hatachi

I agree that Metabo is decent stuff so is Festool. Festool and Fein are the top line tools hands down though. Hitachi I have had excellent luck with as with Bosch but DeWalt... NOT!!! I have a dead circular saw, a dead drill and killed a reciprocating saw in two hours use when the gears broke. Porter Cable used to be good but lately the stuff is junk as I went through three 5" RO sanders in four years and the fourth is on its last legs.

Funny thing is I replaced my DeWalt drill with a Ryobi kit and the drill has now drilled and screwed ten times what my DeWalt did, plus for the same money as just the DeWalt drill, I got an impact driver, circular saw, reciprocating saw, right angle drill on and on. I assumed the stuff would die in short order but it has been about four years now and all the tools are still going strong. Oh and the batteries are 1/4 the cost of the big guys so I have eight of them and two chargers. Sometimes you do find bargains in tools but it is rare. I have been pleasantly surprised by my Ryobi kit..

My boat yard uses Porter Cable 7000 series RO sanders and Fein's. The Porter Cables are sent out for rebuild about three - four times per year each. The Fein's rarely if ever need to be sent out. According to one of the guys there they are slowly replacing the whole fleet of sanders with Fein as they sand faster and last considerably longer even with everyday boat yard abuse. I highly doubt my Ryobi stuff would stand up to every day use but then again my DeWalt "PRO" stuff could barely handle DIY. Tools are a crap shoot....

On a random orbit sander the quality is all over the place :)

On a 4-1/2" angle grinder NOT so much
