Wondering if anyone has a featherstream prop or has had any experience with one. I have seen the testing articles and some reviews from the manufacturer but noting from anyone outside.. It has made it to my shortlist of folding/feathering propellers. Next would be a FoF which I have seen pleanty of good reviews for. All the other manufacturers seem to want at least another $1k for their props, and I really don't see the big a big difference in them over the props I have listed. thanks

I don't know how the cost of the Featherstream compares to the AutoStream, but I have had the AutoStream for 20 years and it is an excellent performer. The link below compares many different props for different performance criteria. Good luck choosing.

Here is a link to the AutoStream that I have:

The autostream is about 600$ more, I do like the ease of pitch adjustment on the auto stream. the question still stands is that worth another 600, I'll probably adjust it once.

I have adjusted mine a couple times looking to see if I could find a better setting than the recommended from the AutoStream manufacturer for my sailboat. I could not; I always came back to the original recommended setting.

I didn't look closely at the design of the Featherstream, but the visual looks very close to the AutoStream. The AutoStream is all stainless steel so that means if you have a SS shaft there are no dissimilar metals. You can also grease the prop in the water which could be an advantage if your boat is in the water for multiple years. I also have a conversion for the zinc on the AutoStream that allows use of a common $10 zinc instead of the $40 propriety one.

You should compare blade size- the AutoStream has large flat blades so the blade shape is the same in forward and reverse. The braking power of the large blades in reverse is awesome.

Bottom line- your money, your boat, your choice..... credit to Stu.
