I have two I usually refer too;

"If it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger"
.
"Don't break anything, nobody got hurt, didn't cost me any money, it was a good day sailing"

Question: "Where's the anchor?"
Answer: "Under 'A' in the dictionary."

From my friend who owns a Cal 36. In fact, he said that about anything we asked for.

He had a much cruder quote as well. When we were sailing, and especially racing, if someone ticked him off or complained to him, he'd ask, "Do you have a dictionary?" When they'd say yes, he'd say, "Well, look up "**** you ****head."

One of my newest faves: "Start off slow, then taper off."

"Marine-Layer" Joe, a friend of mine.

He must have been a teacher or librarian.

How about one of my favorites:

"Id rather be lost at sea, then found at work."

or from the quotable Bob Bitchin:

"Attitude: The difference between an ordeal & an adventure."

"Don't dream away your life, live your dream."

Cheers.

Sailing: The most fun you can have and still keep your clothes on. (On Lake Mead clothing is way down on the list.)

The worst day sailing is better than the best day working...
