Just curious what are the best cities/clubs for non-spinnaker racing. I sail out of Waukegan and there are 10-15 JAM boats racing every Wednesdday. A great program!

Why non-spinnaker?
Racing whether with spinnaker or not is a test of crew skills and tactics. The spinnaker adds to the boat speed, crew skill levels and the excitement that is involved. Too often non-spinnaker racing is done by cruising class boats that make no real effort to compete. I have done both and find the competition level in the spinnaker classes to be on a much higher level with skippers and crew far more interested in doing well.
