Macgregor boats come from the factory pretty bare. That makes them likely candidates for modifications. What is your favorite mod?

Creature comforts

I added lifeline cushions after my first day on the boat so I could lean back on them in comfort. Additionally, my wife made curtains for the cabin to keep the light out when we spend the night on the boat near a bright dock light. I like the cozy cabin. I'm looking at heater options right now so I can use the boat this winter. Ted

Observation seats? & interior shower

As soon as I pull my boat for the winter and bring it home, I'm going to look into designing and building some observation seats, or stern rail seats for it, much like some of the other newer boats have. At this point I don't know if this would be pratical on the MacX or not, but stay tuned and I'll let you all know. I'm also working on putting a real live shower, in the head compartment. I have a cockpit shower now, but I think some guests and crew would prefer a more private setting. The only thing I haven't worked out on this mod is what kind of hot water system I will use. I have electric preasurized water throughout my Mac now, but only cold. ANY Thoughts????? Best Breezes:)

Got stern rails?

Well now, here's the question: if you mount stern rail seatrrs you need stern rails. Will the 26x accomodate those? The shower sounds like a _great_ idea!

This might be of some help...

As far as a shower is concerned you might try Havencraft for some answeres. They have been a dealer for 30 years I think. Web address is: http:\www.macgregor-yachts.com
