Faux Wooden Transom

How about pictures of your transom and working conditions. Are you indoors, on the hard, in a slip, on a trailer in your driveway? I don't see clamping as a big issue, but each condition may have its own solution. Extending the hull color over the sealed edges may work perfectly. Gorilla glue doesn't need a lot of pressure and it is easy to sand or cut off the extra. I've been contemplating just gluing a piece of veneer to Dragonfly's transom as another place to add more art to her. I do like the look of wood. However, there is also added upkeep.

You could go all the way.

I'd go with epoxy and vacuum bag it. As brightwork goes, the location and angle to the sun will be less maintenance than many areas on a bright boat. I've seen a wooden veneer added to the stern of glass boats. I know of a Hinckley that had it done. Looks nice.

That might be an excellent way to clamp the wood veneer to the transom. Great suggestion
