The NAVICO knotmeter on my 1988 Legend 35.5 is on the fritz. No display. I suspect moisture entered through hairline crack on the faceplate. Does it make sense to try to heat up the unit with a hair dryer on low to drive the moisture out? If not, can anybody recommend a place to have the display serviced? (I understand NAVICO was bought out by SIMRAD a couple of years ago. I can't find any similar device in the SIMRAD online inventory.) If worse comes to worse, is there a comparable new unit available, with which I don't have to rebore the through hull for the transducer?
