The hose that runs from the pump under the sink up to the spigot came off. I can't fit my fingers up into the cavity to attach a clamp. What do I need to do to remove the spigot and switch?

Timm: A couple of qustions: Is there a switch at the faucet assembly itself? The water pump on OD 28 comes on when it senses a flow at the pump so that water is delivered to any faucet on the boat in the head or at the galley sink. Is this a factory installed unit or something you or a previous owner installed? If it's after market then there may be some info on the web from the manufacturer. Look at the pump for the model number and manufacturer. When I installed hot water on my boat I simply pulled the faucet(s) and ran a flex line/pipe to the faucet. As I recall the fitting was the type with "hold-fast" tapered rings to keep the line on the faucet. I put a couple of clamps on for insurance. Good Luck and Happy New Year, Mike

Mike this is a factory installed switch.The sink in the head has a vacuum plunger set up.This galley sink has a small toggle switch next to the faucet. They are both mounted on mahogany block.I don't know if the block is glued or screwed onto the counter top.The hose from the pump pushes up onto to a barbed fittinng.There is no room for me to tighten a hose clamp on it.

I have one idea left: Maybe it will be easier to pull the entire sink and rebed it when you have the connection done. Sounds like pulling off the faucet will be a chore. Good luck, Mike

The only problem with that idea ,is that the switch and faucet are mounted to a block behind the sink.The sink is seperate.

Removing the Sink
Timm, I think what he meant was that removing the sink would give you "hand" room to work on the faucet. When you say "switch", are you talking about the toggle that acts as a pump. My O'Day 25 has a factory faucet, and it's a pump. The lever moves back and forth to pump the water. My cabinet is still disassembled, and I'll try to take a look at it this evening to see how it's attached to the counter.

The galley sink is differant.There is a small toggle switch next to the faucet. Both the switch and faucet are mounted on a mahogany block behind the sink. I think that if I tried to remove the sink I would damage it. It appears to be glued in.Even if I removed the sink I still don't think I could get up inside. I've thought about just prying the mahogany block off the counter. I know that if I do that then I just might as well put a new counter top in. Yeah as long as I'm doing that I might as well put that gimballed stove in. Then I'm going to have to put in a dedicated propane storage locker. Herb do you see where this is going? I'm trying to finish a project,not start a new one.

Sorry, sounds like your faucet is different than mine. No blocks on mie, just the facet sitting in the hole. I suspect your sink isn't glued, that's probably just silicone or something light. Both of mine came out pretty easy. Basically, there are metal tabs near the edge of the sink that are tightedn by a nut underneath (I think mine were wing nuts). The tab extends under the counter top, and holds the sink when the wing nuts are tightened. If your cabinet is like mine, there's no "easy" way to disassemble the counter. On mine, the cabinet divder was screwed in from the top, through the counter. Then the formica finish was glued on top of the screws. I had to destroy the formica (and the counter top) to disassemble it. I didn't care, as rebuilding all of that was part of my project (still unfinished, BTW); but it sounds like you don't want to go that far.

I just replaced or tried to replace the faucet on my galley sink. I got the wild idea to replace it with an electric pump / faucet from Boaters World. Saved 30 dollars by adding the electric pump versus the manual factory issued pump. To make a long story short, I had to add a temporary block to mount the faucet that had the push button off/ on switch. Installed it, looked good, hooked up the 12 volt, crawled into the lazurette, installed the pump and was working fine. But... the pump didn't hold a prime, and wouldn't raise the water high enough to make it back to the galley sink. Went to ebay, found an exact replacement for the manual, and will swap it back out this weekend. Anyone want a great deal on a perfectly working electric pump and faucet??? I'm confused
Ross,now you have me confused.My water tank is mounted on the hull behind the companionway bulkhead.The water runs out of the tank downhill to the pump. From there it is only two feet maybe to the faucet.I don't understand how it can lose prime. I'm interested in the pump if you want to sell it.
