Faucet fiberglassed to Head Sink?

Has anyone had trouble removing the original sink faucet from the head sink on a '77 H30? After I spent an hour or so getting at the faucet nuts up under the sink, the faucet is still stuck fast, and I mean very fast. A wrench handle inserted up into the pipe from the bottom and pulled hard doesn't even begin to budge the faucet. Hammering on the faucet or prying up from the outside with a strong wedge yields nothing but a broken wedge. I think someone set the faucet into the holes while the fiberglass was still wet. I'm down to sawing around the fixture with my recip. saw. Any ideas or similar experiences?

Not sure if they are fiberglassed in, but they are very hard to reach. You need the small, eft hands of an 8-year-old boy and lately they have been usurped by Michael Jackson.

Didn't even try. . . .

to remove the conventional way. On my H37C there was no way to get those nuts off. Or the hoses or nipples. I simply took my Roto-Zip and cut around the assembly to remove. I could do this because I am replacing the sink. I wrote, over on the Cherubini forum, that I was surprised to find the sink is part of the inner liner. I have to also cut enough of the sink away to allow the new stainless sink to drop in.

Thanks, Ed

That's just the info I needed, your sink looks very similar to mine. I'll cut around the fixture and probably fit a slightly larger fixture right over the hole. Hugh

Here's an idea for you.

My sink is from Kohler. With one of these you don't need that damn sink stopper.
