Hello, I am a printing press mechanic with access to a full metal shop and wood shop and welding bay... It's another wet winter... I just bought an O'day 22, and you may wince but I intend to set it up for 'singlehanding my way', with all sheets led aft to 2 winches and clutches... Built boats for 9 years, sailed since I stole ahem borrowed my first canoe, ahem... I am very bugged by the headsail folding over my pulpit and lifelines, so I am just now embarking on a modification which will raise the jib up to height of same, then snake it to a vanged jib club with roller reefing... I don't want a deck track, as I believe going downwind, wing on wing with my intention would be easier, somehow getting a lever vang to rotate within pulpit is the trick... Anyone interested in following my progress say 'yeh' and I will post photos and diagrams as I go, or just mail interested parties... Hell, anyone already having done same, please get in touch... At the moment I have few diversions, my car runs great, my wife loves it when I am out of the house, so progress might be solid... I can sometimes be had at herrons@telus.net ... I am off to polish some Stainless gidgets... SH.

Frikin' talking to myself here...

Hello, Those who were watching would have said, now you know Sean, that headsail is more of a Jenny than a Frikin' jib... OK, so I motored it over last weekend and just now saw the damned sail plan, I just always get these fiddle with it urges, when I get a new toy... It does not seem worth it now, although a blade jib would not affect the centers too much, but thats money... Let's kibitz, what would you do... Fiddle and go broke, or save your money for pastries and gin, and just sail the tub... ANYONE GOT THE NAME OF THE DESIGNER, AND A REAL SAILPLAN... Neash... SH.
