Getting ready to launch our 240. I have uncovered some loose screws and am inquiring about the best way to 'lock' them down. The screws holding the tie down loop for the centerboard haul line are loose. When I turn them tighter, they spin and don't grip. There is no access from below. Any ideas on how to reset them? Thanks.

Dave, here is a picture. The two philipshead screws not holding when tightened. Before I pull them out, I wanted to get suggestions on what to do.

The standard method is to drill it out to just under the size of the fashener flange (~1/2"), fill with Epoxy and then drill and tap it. Some like to use machine screws for more threads, others like to use self taping sheet metal type screws for s deeper bite.
If you do not see any nuts nor inspection port inside, then the screws or bolts were put into drilled and tapped threads in an aluminum plate encapsulated between the layers of the fiberglass deck. Look inside first and take a photo there so I can be sure. Is the ceiling a cloth cover or hard fiberglass panel.
If the threads are fouled, the easiest is to tap for the next size up of the bolt. Keep me posted.

Dave, found access via a light panel in the cabin ceiling and was able to tighten the nuts. Thanks for the help.
