Hello, I have been looking for articles or reviews on the Fantasia 35. I can't find any. I did find the owners website that has a great deal of useful information, even all the construction drawings but no independent reviews. Any info anyone could offer would be appreciated. Bruce Bingham is a respected designer/sailor. Looking at photos the boat certainly looks well built. At 22,000# and a S/D under 12 she ain't gonna be a light air flier. this could be a good opportunity, though, to get a passage maker at a reasonable price. Have you been aboard one?

Katie Burke and Bruce Bingham
I love the Fantasia 35! A very popular "Liveaboard Book" featured Bruce's Fantasia 35 that he and Katie Burke (another well known naval architect) lived aboard in th 80's. Lots of great photos and ship details. What Bruce did to the interior was remarkable. He used leaded glass inserts in the cabinetry, added a workshop compete with workbench and plenty of stowage and a ton of liveaboard space. It was the Fantasia 35 that inspired me to get the next best design, the Coronado 35 sloop. Bingham was a great designer, but you do not hear much from him anymore. He featured in Cruising World magazine in the 80's wonderful illustrations of useful interior, deck or cockpit ideas (storage bins for example). In each illustration he had a small mouse hidden away in the drawing. Sort of a "where is Waldo" type picture. My three year old son used to enjoy trying to find the mouse and color it in when we were liveaboards on our 35 Coronado. It would be nice to see a Fantasia 35 again as they are great vessels. Canoe stern, amidship helm, plenty of interior space, stout! I cannot really offer much more aside from suggesting you run a Google search for Bruce Bingham or the Fantasia 35 and see what shows up.
