Personally I like the Caframo Bora fan but it is hard wired. It draws very, very little, .25 amps per hour on high, but still puts out great wind. I have yet to find a battery operated fan that can compare. Sorry I did not answer your question but the Bora is a real winner..
O2 Cool
I purchased a couple of the early models of the 10" O2 Cool fans last year-bought them at WallyWorld. These are the same fans now sold at WestMarine, with exception that my model only uses 8 D cell batteries or AC. The newer version uses rechargable batteries and has a charging unit in the fan. These fans put out a good flow of air and are relatively quiet. After discovering that my model does not recharge batteries, and, finding out that you can only use the fans for a couple of nights, the cost of 8 D Cell batteries does not make this a good option. I have several Hella hard wired (12 V) that work fine, but they can be a bit noisy. I have a couple of 35a 12 V batteries that I am going to wire to the O2 Cool fans this weekend to see how they work. I can recharge these batteries and they should last considerably longer than the D cells. I like the O2 Cool fans-just not impressed with the power-hungry early version that I bought.
