I just saw a seal at mile 315. It was the first I've seen since leaving Maine which made it feel a bit like running into someone from your hometown when you're in Europe. He was looking around with I kind of, What the hell am I doing here?, attitude which has me wondering if this is unusual. Are seals common down here and just shyer than in New England or is this fellow far far from home?

I'm in Southport after a run from the border on a cold and raw day that has me asking myself much the same question as the seal.

I have seen them on rare occasions but not enough to have any real opinion of whether it is normal or not. It is definitely a lot further north before I would say common.

Definitely know the boat. Since I don't know the bridge I'll pass. We did not do that part of the ICW.
