Fairlead installation

[Driftin II]

I'm adding a couple Ronstan RF59 fairleads to handle the jib sheets to winches I've added to be able to single hand sail (apparently this was an option for my 1995 29.5 the original owner didn't include with the build). Specs show them mounting on the cabin side between a couple of ports. Anyone have the specs regarding the thickness of the cabin wall so I get the correct length screws.

I don't know the specifics of your boat, it looks like a Hunter?, but I wouldn't expect your cabin trunk to be much more than 1/4" to 5/16" thick. You can probably get a good idea by measuring the cabin top around your hatch. If anything, the top will be a little thicker than the sides. The bulkhead of the back of your cabin trunk may be thicker, but it might also be similar to the sides.

I've built up a collection of stainless nuts, bolts, screws and washers over the years. The wood/metal screws were bought as a kit. The machine screws are organized by diameter. It's been a tremendous help and time saver over the years. A hardware store trip from the yard or marina takes no less than 30 minutes.

You can always use a longer screw and cut it down
