Fair Winds to ya'll -- had to sell boat :-(

I owe you all an explanation…

I know I've been AWOL from SBO for a bit, due to other family obligations taking precedence over my sailing habit (umm, addiction). The past year I just haven't gotten out enough, nor had time to honestly keep up with the maintenance on my boat. Alas, I have decided to sell the Quest Boat to someone who is just getting into sailing. I hope he enjoys it as much as I have.

Thanks to all who have guided me, helped me, and joked along with me over the past 4 years. I look forward to rejoining ya'll down the road (hopefully not too far down the road!), and of course will be following along to get my sailing fix in vicariously through ya'll.

Best wishes and fair winds to ya'll, and thanks to SBO and staff for helping us all come together.

Until we meet again…

Dangit, boy. You don't have to leave. Besides that, if you love it that much, you will want to sail something!

Good luck to ya Jonny. Enjoyed our many conversations. You can always hang around here and if you're ever in the Rochester, NY area give a shout. I would be happy to have you out on YOT. Say hi to Casa Blanca for me. Just don't come back here with another boat and grab my XXyearslater moniker although I wouldn't be opposed to the idea.

Yeah, what they said. LOL

Get, or better yet build, a HH Payson boat. This way you can still get on the water and it will be low maintenance. It's in your blood, man, the water will always be calling you.

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
I was almost to the point that you are. Then I decided on downsizing to a 23' trailer sailor. I am so glad that I did that.

Costs are much cheaper. She is sitting on a trailer right now so it isn't costing me a slip fee. No more haul outs either.

It is worth taking a look!

Good luck to you Johnny! I was without a boat for 7 years after Katrina. Can't even guestimate the hours that I spent on line looking for another boat before finally purchasing another 2 years ago. Suspect that you will be doing the same!! But, I did charter many times in Pensacola during that 7 year hiatus. Great sailing there and there is something to be said for setting aside a 3 or 4 day weekend to charter a boat and getting away. I don't do that near often enough now that I have my own. Usually I am working on a boat project or maintenance and sometimes sail. Definitely need to change my priorities. Fair Winds & keep in touch.

Shhh! Don't let my wife know... I'm secretly looking around on the websites for info on beach cats, Hobies etc. ;-)

Yes, it make sense to just have an inexpensive Beach boat during this phase of life's journey.

Thanks for the well wishes, suggestions, and offers to go sailing if in your neck of the woods 25!

Y'all do me a favor and post more pictures so I can appreciate y'all sailing until I figure things out.
