Our boat is a 2002 H356. The teak just inside the cabin has faded from exposure to the sun. The rest of the interior is fine.

What do I use to restore the teak?

Same Problem

I have the same problem with my 2002 356. I have used bronze wool (does not rust) and roughed up an area or two then tried to respray the laquer finish

I am not happy with it because it is very hard to spray without runs and very toxic to breath in the cabin

I am looking for a brush on coating

I will let you know what I find

Any other inputs out there

My boat is a little older,93 H30, but

I use lemon oil. Applied often to recover from a little neglect, it has really made a difference.

Laquer

When I bought the boat, Hunter supplied me with the laquer spray I discussed in my earlier post to touch up the finish. I believe that is what they used

The laquer spray did not give me acceptable results

I tend to stay away from oils (lemon or any other) because if refinishing is required, they are difficult to get off

Still looking for a thin finish that can be brushed on

Interior Teak

I just refinished my teak cabin sole - used shellac, came out amazing. The shipwright that suggested this- told me - for the interior to use mineral oil. He said its better quality oil than the stuff sold as "teak oil" and will do the trick. I'm going to do that next .... :)
