factory replacement hatches and portholes

I just clicked on the link. Thrifty Mariner states that they are an outlet for excess, discontinued or second quality. Does anyone know what category the gray portlights fall in? If they are second quality, what kinds of defects have been noted?

TM quality.

Cannot speak to portlights but did purchase two large Bomar hatches. I can detect no flaws but I know they are seconds. From what I have read here on HOW no one has had a quality issue.
