Modge, It sounds like you are new to your C36
on another thread you mentioned you didn't have a service manual for your '84 C36. You can get a lot of information for your boat from the Catalina 36 International Association. I would strongly recomend joining the ( go to either www.catalina36.com or www.c36ia.com) if you haven't done so already. Its only a few dollars a year (less than most things at West Marine) and that include 4 issues annually of the Mainsheet magazine from Catalina which also has has Tech Notes for each model boat that Catalina has. They also have a lively email list you can belong to and a web based Bulletin Board for C36 questions. Also have a specialty "tool loan" programs and many other great features If you join up for 3 years you'll get a CD with all the service manuals for our boats through all the years (Catalina C36 Manual, engine manuals, parts manual, systems manuals, etc etc). Plus you'll get 25 years worth of all the back issues of the C36 tech Notes. That alone is worth its weight in gold.
