Thinking about buying a F235, I am wondering "Can the fin keel model be launched from the trailer?" Does it need a tongue extention? Any help is appreciated. Joe M.
Joe; I used to ramp launch a Catalina 22 from a trailer using a tongue extension. I also added a guide to center the keel when retrieving the boat. Worked great.
You need to make sure you have a very deep and long ramp. I have ramp launched a 25' boat with a 3'3" draft. I used a 10' extension and had to completely submerge the trailer to get the boat on and pull it out. I hope this gives you an idea. It should be a little easier with the 235 but it will require an extension.
