Has anyone installed the ezsteer system connecting the rudder to the outboard motor? I saw it advertized in Sail Magazine. Cost, ease of installation and ability to disconnect when sailing are issues of interest.

Works great

I have one on my H26. Mount on motor is easy. Attaching to rudder might take a little creativity. I have put a tether on mine so I don't loose it in the water with my fat fingers. On my boat, I have to remove it to raise the motor. I slide it into the compartment with the fuel tank.

Check the photo forum

Bob I put a rough scetch on the 260 photo forum of one we mad. It cost about $80.00aus from memory.

I made one...

I made one that has worked well for me on our H260 for over a year. I used a ~1" x 1" piece of oak with a pin pointing down on the rudder side and a pin pointing up on the motor side. The pin on the rudder side slides into a hole I drilled on the black cast plate and the other pin goes in the hole already on the motor. I use ring clips to keep it from popping out. The only drawback is that it needs to be removed when tilting the motor. The is a picture of of it in place on the link below.

Thanks

Thanks for the information. I found the EZ Steer in West Marine. $209+tax and shipping. Dick, where does the creativity come into play mounting it to the rudder?

Nice job Al

Your little photo album looks great. Well done and look forward to additional pics. Regards from "sunny Albany". 10-15 knots today. Small swell. Clear skies. About 26c. OK we have waited a long time for this great weather.

nice to have

I made my own before they became available. It looks like a nice setup. Having your motor attached really helps motoring and control. Corky
