Aunt Mart's knitting needle
That sounds like just as good an idea as my Magic Splicing Tool. A knitting needle will work just fine provided you use a little dentle floss to whip the line to hold it to the head of the needle and then follow that up with tape. No sharp edges to catch any fibers, very good idea. I applaud your creativity. The Magic Splicing Tool may be a bit cheaper but both will last a lifetime of use so the cost is insignificant.
