A friend of mine who works at a boatyard that received 60mph winds last Sunday in our most recent storm told me about a boat where the pennant wore through the boat. It was an old wooden lobster boat with some areas of rot at the bow. When the storm was over they found that the 3 strand pennant had sawed through the boat about 16". Unfortunately I was not able to get there and see it or snap a photo.
