Hello,
Looking to do a bareboat charter on the Amalfi coast Italy Sept. 2025. Has anyone had experience booking through a US company 12Knots?
The sail boat the are offering is through a charter company called North Sardinia Sail (NSS). Both companies have been around for many years.
There are enough reviews on 12 Knots to show they seem to be okay. Having less luck finding many reviews on NSS.

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question but if you are a boat owner like me there must be chance you charter as well.

Thanks,
Dirk

Dirk, you will find there are more Med sailors on CruisersForum.

That said, you should check to see if you are required to have an International Certificate to charter a boat in the Med. I know Croatia is restrictive.

"Italy expects a skipper to be qualified, although there is no official list of recognized licenses. You need a valid sailing license and VHF license. Most national skipper qualifications will suffice. An ICC (International Certificate of Competence) will always be accepted."

Thanks for this. Yes I have ICC and have chartered in Croatia who have similar requirements to Italy.
I will check out the Cruisers forum.
Cheers,

Yes, my wife & I chartered a beneteau 34.1 with Spartivento, boat called Pluto in Salerno. Sailed to Almalfi, Positano, Capri, and Sorrento. Best cruise/experience ever.

Almalfi Marina has a legendary port manager Guilio 39 347 349 5280, that will help you dock boat. I would also reserve a spot if you go to Capri, and rent a scooter to get around island (international drivers license, get online) to avoid ferry crowd & have better food. We anchored in Positano, visited Sorrento (Try lemon sorbet++) and Ischia is a less touristed island, beautiful scenery throughout. Practice med mooring, at least, like my wife & I, have hand signals because it's difficult for us to guess scope. Sounds like awesome trip. Enjoy!
