removehtml]Alot of mail is bouncing back to us from Yahoo; the error message indicates their server is the culprit. This is not uncommon for Yahoo. We much prefer Google's gmail. It's invitation only, but if you'd like an invite please write me: phil (at) sailboatowners.comError: Error: expected [/URL], but found [/removehtml] instead[/removehtml]

Grigs...

I know this is a silly question, but are your cookies turned on? In my case I use Firefox and normally have my cookies turned off. Some sites I visit where I have to login, I can't. Then I realize that my cookies are turned off. Once I turn them back on, I can get in with no problem. Like I said, just a silly question.

As defined by Wikipedia...

"HTTP Cookies, sometimes known as web cookies or just cookies, are parcels of text sent by a server to a web browser and then sent back unchanged by the browser each time it accesses that server. HTTP cookies are used for authenticating, tracking, and maintaining specific information about users, such as site preferences or the contents of their electronic shopping carts. The term "cookie" is derived from "magic cookie," a well-known concept in UNIX computing which inspired both the idea and the name of HTTP cookies." In essence, cookies are used by sites you visit to see what has changed since your last visit. I personally don't like them and have them turned off until I feel that I can trust the site. This site is trusted and therefore, I keep cookies turned on. There are just a few sites that I trust. Otherwise, my cookies are turn off all the time.

I just hate it when that happens. I was in my office a while back and heard the timer go off, I jump up ran into the Kitchen with antisipation and when I opened the oven relized I forgot to turn the cookies on.

Great suggestion by Brian D. Thanks. Now how do I go about turning off the cookies? I am computer challenged.

Brian, pray tell how you manage to turn

only certain cookies on and off. My understanding is that your computer either accepts them or not. On or off. How do you do that selectively? (From a boat savvy but computer illiterate sailor) :)

From MS Internet explorer..

Go to Tools,Internet Options, Privacy, Advanced, and there you will see automatic cookie handling. Select as needed.

Stu, If you are using XP home on a pc you can control the cookies as follows. Start-Control panel-Security center-internet options-privacy-advanced. At that location you can set your cookie preferences. Dennis W. S/V FullSailed

Like I said before...

I use Firefox as my browser. If you are using Firefox, look in the lower right of the browser window and you will see what looks like a cookie. Just click on it once and a menu will pop up. Select Deny Cookies Globally. When you get to a site you want to be active on, say Sailboatowners.com, then click on the cookie and select Allow Sailboatowners.com and that cookie for this site will be active. If you go to some other website, the cookies will be denied. Selective cookies, the only way to go. If you are using IE, then the guys have already explained how to do it.

Phil, I tried to open this forum a bit ago . responce was

very slow and then I got this : ERROR: MySQL DATABASE CONNECTION FAILED! - Can't create TCP/IP socket (24) ERROR: COULD NOT FIND SQL CONNECTION "23". - Subsequent SQL commands attempting to use that connection ID will fail. ERROR: COULD NOT FIND SQLRESULT "li". - Subsequent SQL commands attempting to use that result ID will fail. An unknown error occurred: SQLDISCONNECT ERROR: COULD NOT FIND SQLCONNECT "23". - Subsequent SQL commands attempting to use that result ID will fail. After that message the site opened normally. FYI, I don't know what it means.

mysql error

Hi Ross, The new user prefs have increased the load on our mysql server and it looks like it refused your connection. We'll get that fixed this weekend. Thanks so much for the heads-up!
