Does anyone own a 1984 Hunter 31 or similar that had to replace the water exhaust tank? Mine leaks into the bildge when running due to a crack, Im pretty sure it cannot be fixed easily and was wondering how or what I can use to replace with. I was thinking the Ventus system but not sure. If anyone has any clue or fixer information I would greatly appreciate it.

Spring is here and the cover is coming off soon and work has begun.

Thanks Art

Whatever You Do .........................

Mine leaks into the bildge when running due to a crack,
....................... remember that this is leaking the big CO into your cabin space.

Please make sure that whatever you do, it's perfect seal, 100% guaranteed. We don't want to lose any members here .

Not that easy to replace what is in place. The current "waterlock" is built into the hull. It will be a major fix to cut it out and reroute eveything. The fuel tank sits on top of the "waterlock".

Art: You may want to take a photo of the setup and see what some other think.

Thanks Everyone for the reply, I was told by westmarine that I can get another one and attached to top of existing. Stainless was recommended.

Im thinking a Vetus 2" plastic waterlock tank and just attaching it to top of old tank. Not sure if a repair would hold in the built in tank in hull. Any thoughts????? Hamilton Marine has the best prices, beat west marine by a whold lot.

OD: You will need to remove or repair the leak in the existing tank. The exit for the exhaust is in that tank. If you remove the tank you will need to build a platform for the fuel tank to sit on.

I would consult with a local boat yard on what they think. I believe this is a $100-200 repair vs $800-1200 to start over.

If you do it yourself it is probably a $25-50 job for materials.
