Exhaust Riser?

Good new and bad new on "Overture" V2926. I found the engine is a
Volvo MD6B. The only difference I can see is the separate starter and
generator. The good news is I manage to get the engine to run. The bad
news is that I wasn't able to go for a sail. The exhaust riser (I
think? It leaves the engine and connects to the cooling sleeve and
then on to a large can like thing which I would guess is a silencer)
leaks both exhaust and water. Would anyone be able to point me in the
right direction for some schematics and parts for this engine.

Thanks

Hi Paul,
I've got some engine info in my stack of stuff.
Call me & I'll show you what I've got. I sent our Ph #

For the MD6A manual (in swedish) see:

http://www26.brinkster.com/md4a/ (md4a is a typo, nice pictures)

For a translation of that and other manuals see:

There are however not really any good pictures or schematics of the
propeller shaft and combi drive. I have just removed the propeller shaft
from V2148. It was relatively easy once the motor had been removed. I don't
see how it can be done with the engine in. There is not enough room for the
tool (not my tool anyway :) to pull of the thing at the front of the
propeller shaft that couples to the crank shaft.

My english vocabulary lack technical terms to properly describe the process
in detail, but I'll try anyway:

- Drain oil from the engine and combi drive
- Disconnect engine and combi drive - four 6mm (I think) hex screws forming
a diamond
- Move the engine
- Disassemble the housing for the propeller - four 3/16 inch (I remember
clearly because most other screws are in metrics and I did not have a 3/16
inch bit) hex screws. I guess they can be rather stuck.
- Push the front of the housing forward and remove the propeller blades.
- Remove the bolt and lock-washer (right?) at the end of the propeller
shaft.
- Pull off the rear of the housing using a proper tool.
- Unscrew the thing with the "teeth" inside the propeller - NOTE: this is
left-threaded (right?)
- The combi drive and propeller shaft may now be pulled into the cabin.

I did not have a proper tool for pulling off the rear of the propeller
housing so I disassembled the combi drive and pulled out the shaft at the
rear. Disassembling the combi drive is not too difficult though.

I plan to seal the shaft by mounting what is popularly known as a "Black
Jack" here (I guess in reference to a contraceptive of the same name and
color).

I do not need to change any bearings, so I can't tell you any more.
