While motoring, I have noticed that back end of my 1985 C27 drops down a bit so the exhaust is below - slightly below the water line. I have a Vetus water muffler and there is a loop so I am not too concerned that water is backing in to the engine, but I was wondering if this was normal on other similar boats? This does not happen while idling, only motoring under way.

Exhaust below water line

My 84 C-27 exhaust drops below the water line, too, especially when there are several people in the cockpit. My exhaust system has a pretty high riser loop, so I'm not concerned about that either. The biggest problem I've encounted is the sticky film of exhaust that attaches itself to the transom as it bubbles up from the outlet. Randy
