american dream

I owned a 1988 Catalina Mark II 30' sailboat. I Need to replace my exhaust pipe between the Universal 25hp XP exhaust flange and the verna lift muffler. I removed it, the pipe is corroded at the nipple of the sea water hose. Lookslike a pre made piece by Catalina. Does anyone know where I can get this piece of pre made pipe. Can't find any diagrams showing this exhaust make up. Need to know part# and where to buy this pipe.

Did mine last week. Check the archives. I used black pipe and did the elbow at the local welder for $15.00. Replaced the exhaust wrap. I did it all, but on my back and through the small door it wasn't fun and it was cold.

american dream I had one made for our C34 by CY, Robert Butler was very helpful. The stainless steel riser came preinsulated with a new nipple, just needed to get a new flange gasket at the manifold end and install it. Only cost about $165, but you could always have it made locally. Stu

muffler shop

I fixed mine last year It just broke at water inlet so I welded it. But before it went back in the boat I took it to midus muffler and they made me a new one out of SS and they expanded the ends so it fit in a black pipe with threads to fit on the XP25 and on the rubber end on the water lift then I got a 5/8 ss pipe from a service star and drilled it in the side of the EX pipe It needs to be welded now but it looks very sweet, better then new. not a standard item

I did a rebuild on my 87 Cat30 earlier this winter. Lots of previous posts about all of this. I took the (very) corroded black iron setup to a local welder and had it done in SS. Much cheaper in black but they dont seem to last very long. The flange to the manifold, and the gasket are the standard items you can get, the rest is a fab item. Luckily, its not that hard to do, a little tight fit but it can be done.
