My exhaust line that run under my port side lazerette has a T style pipe fitting about midway in the lazerette, that does not connect to anything. Does any one know what this is for? It has a small leak so I would like to replace it. Can I use a straigh piece of pipe? Would pvc be ok? I had attached a picture. Thanks.

Not sure what you're asking about...

When you say 'exhaust line,' are you referring to a line coming from your holding tank or your engine?

Anti-backup valve

Looks like a one way valve. Someone put it in due to water backing into the muffler and engine when a stern wave hits or heeling. Does the hose rise above the water line as it should? A one-way valve in the exhaust line is dangerous. Sometimes people put a flapper on the outside of the exhaust port which is ok.
