exhaust leak

I have a fairly bad exhaust leak which stinks up the cabin. I'm
concerned about carbon monoxide poisoning and need to fix this.

I can't tell for sure whether it's coming out around the manifold
gasket or from the joints in the exhaust riser. The pipe that makes
up the exhaust riser is stained black around the joints which makes
me think that might be where it's leaking but I'm not sure. The
exhaust manifold gasket looks to be in pretty bad shape.

I'm thinking I should pull the manifold and inspect it to try to find
any obvious signs of rusting through and then replace the gasket when
I reinstall it.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement gasket, or any ideas
on how to deal with this? Can I make a new gasket or do I need to
find one that fits this engine?

This is an original 021 gas engine.

Check out McDonnell Marine Service, 8 East Newberry Road, Bloomfield, CT

I haven't found anything yet that they don't have for a Volvo engine.

Good Luck..............Ed
