Exhaust hose dimensions and availability.

Hello all.

I just changed the mixing elbow on my '87 H31. Again. Now THAT'S a fun job!

Anyway, I was thinking that the exhaust hose was feeling kinda brittle, and I'm sure it's original equipment, so I'd like to replace it; I was wondering if anyone had the dimensions of the hose, and/or a hint as to where I could obtain a replacement. Any suggestions regarding the job itself would also be greatly appreciated.

It is a SOB to do this.

If you want to try it yourself, you will need help (to say the least). It is probably a 2-4 hr. job depending on your ability & patience.

If you want someone that can assist you with the job there is a good guy in the bay area. His name is Bill Ingle he operates out of Grand Marina and his number is 510/708-9391.

I'll probably just wait until the dang thing starts leaking, or whatever happens when it fails, and then have your guy perform the operation. I just want to have the hose on hand for when the time comes to replace it. I think it's 2" in diameter and it must be about 10 feet long. It appears to be reinforced hose of some kind, but I'm not sure.

PS- I used Walton's up near you for my last haulout per your advice to someone a while back. John did a great bottom job for a fair price, and it was a fun trip up to Rio Vista.
