Exhaust flapper valves

I would like to install an exhaust flapper valve on Journeyman, to add protection against seawater getting up the exhaust into the crankcase, as Jeff's email related. This is the type of valve one sees hoseclamped to the end of the exhaust pipe at the transom. I can't locate one for my size, which is 1 1/2 inches or so. All the makes seem to be for much bigger pipes. Suggestions?

Several marine engine mechanics have stated that the
reason water got into the engine was due to lack of
an anti-siphon loop in my exhaust....also, several
have said that it wasn't needed in my exhaust, due to
the layout.

my insurance company said is assuming it is due to
mechanical failure, which my mechanic has not been yet
able to find..

go figure....but my next engine will certainly have
one......that is my assumption..lolas far as a flapper, perhaps one could be fabricated
for the smaller exhaust size. Money well spent if it
saves you the cost of an overhaul, or a new engine.

The last trip of the season was stormy, in a following
sea, late into the night/early am....it was a great
trip! :)
