I have an O34 with a M25 Universal. Anybody out there happen to have or know the part number for the exhaust injector elbow. I've been trying to get in touch with Torrensen for the past couple of days and there seems to be a problem with getting anyone to call me back.

there may not be a part number

I have an O'Day 31 with a Universal M-18. If you have a similar setup there may not be a specific part. I couldn't find one. I fabricated a new exhaust using galvanized pipe. The water injector elbow is made up of a threaded pipe T in top of the down leg of the exhaust pipe. I used a reducer (bushing) in the T and a pipe to hose barb connecter to screw into the reducer. The hot cooling water comes out of the engine through a hose and dumps into the exhaust through the hose barb fitting. Got all this at Orchard Supply Hardware. Then wrapped it all with fiberglass insulating tape from the marine store. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want any specifics.

Here's what I had to do

I have an O35 with an M25-XP, which I suspect is the same set-up you have. When my riser gave out last year, I figured that the replacement was more than I wanted to tackle, so I called in a marine mechanic. He could not find a mixer elbow that fit, so they fabricated one by welding two different sizes of galvanized pipe together. Don't know if this is a common problem and solution or not, but the solution worked for me. They replaced the entire riser, including the flange where it connects to the engine block.

Thanks guys, I haven't taken it out as yet but based on what your saying, that probably explains why no one has called me back from Torrensen, they don't know. What I have looks pretty simple, just a couple of pipes screwed together coming out of the flange and dumping into a hose to the water trap. I'll just pull it out this weekend and start looking for a local plumbing supply. Thanks again.

Hi J.B. - Like the others said, you may have to have something custom manufactured. Torresen has a decent web site (www.marinedieseldirect.com), see related link below for M25 parts available. Even if they can't help you with the riser, this is a good bookmark for you! Best of luck, Trevor

Thanks Trevor

I have that site and routinely use them for parts. As luck would have it, they have everything listed except what I'm looking for. I'm pretty much resolved that it's going to be something that I'll have to put together myself. I'm going to tear it down this weekend and start putting parts together. Thanks again! J.B.
