Saw that elsewhere but, yes, it is quite funny.
Tells you how much non-racers or non-sailors understand sailboat races. The announcer is a non-sailor judging by his funny comments.

Don,
Legit - NO WAY

Has to be an experienced sailor to understand everywhere the average Joe could misunderstand what is going on.

That guy is taking the piste - and I thank him.

Rgds,
Don

I read somewhere that the IOC had the post taken down from youtube because it infringed on their broadcasting rights. Evidently there are some thin skinned attorneys on their committee. Personally, I thought it was a humorous commentary and simply enjoyed it for what it was. Whether the narrator wasa legitimate commentator who did not understand the sport, or someone who simply over dubbed a video, it was just good entertainment.

I received a follow up email from the one with this commentary. The narrator posted a response which blasted the IOC for taking down the original commentary, saying in not-so-polite terms that he was trying to spread around a little laughter to his listeners.

Sorry Don....it's a joke and you're behind the curve.

HERE is Higgins' response to the IOC. Scroll down a few posts.

They didn't take it down because they felt insulted. They took it down because they are tightwads who don't want anyone to be able to watch a single second of video of the Olympics without the IOC getting paid for it first. I'm all for capitalism, but, damn, lighten up.
