I am in process of purchasing a EU2000iA generator from wisesales.
While I am on the hook I like to get some hot water on 376 Hunter. I know it will run lots of my electrical gadgets but will it warm up my water?

A typical 120volt water heater draws around ten amps. So yes, you can heat the water but not run much else at the same time.

Yes. The std heater on your boat draws less than the max current load for the Honda.

Gabor, That is exactly what I bought mine for, it works great. It also gets used to run the "Queen's" blowdryer so she can primp just like at home. Extra bonus is to run the microwave or battery charger if the case may be. Wise had the best deal when I bought mine 3 years ago.

I am at the Point as well, on "O" dock. Several boats on "O" use this generator while on the hook or a mooring buoy. On my boat, I can run my 40 amp shore charger and heat the water at the same time. It takes about 1/2 hour to heat my 6 gal. tank.
As you are aware, just be careful with storage of gas and the potential for CO fumes (very poisonous).

There are several models. One with the 12-volt charger and twin 110/15-amp outlets. Another has the 30-amp twistlock and 110 outlet. I suggest the second so you can use the shore power cord.

Just remember to keep your CO detector battery up... a portable generator like that is a good way to get carbon monoxide poisoning... some boats will "station wagon" at anchor and suck the fumes into the cabin.
