Essex National Heritage Photo Contest Winners

Last year Stanley Slysz woke up around 4:30 a.m. one August morning, packed his photography gear and headed to Winter Island to catch the sunrise illuminate the island’s lighthouse.

The resulting photo, titled “Sunrise at Winter Island,” won a first place prize this week in the 2011 Essex National Heritage Area Photo Contest.

Nice. I spent some wonderful summers at my grandparent's summer home in Essex (on Conomo Point). It's been a long time since I spent any time there (the house was sold after they passed) and I wasn't aware of the ENH site. Thanks for posting.
