I also get a few who have never sailed and dream of cruising.
It is a waiting game. Don't be surprised by the "wealthy" scammers who offer full price plus. Ignore them. If the boat is in decent condition and the asking price reflects its value, there will be a serious buyer who has been looking just for our boat.

Sorry, Greg, today was the first time I was notified by Sailboat Owners. I do appreciate all the comments. So to update you, I was contacted last week and the person interested said his wife now wants to buy a house instead of a boat. This is what I am getting used to a potential buyer excited about the boat then changes their mind,. Thanks for the responses. I also get a few who have never sailed and dream of cruising. Oh well hopefully I will sell it soon
Yep. I was selling my Hunter 280 (it was just perpetually for sale so I could buy a bigger boat). Had a guy Contact me, I took him out sailing on her, but I could not close the deal. He was a Widower, so I knew he didn’t have to get permission from the Admiral :banghead:. But he would not pull the trigger. Then I unexpectedly bought Tally Ho and I had to get rid of Obsession. I offered the guy $1,000 off (essentially my cost to store it for the winter). That got him off dead-center and he bought her before winter.

A waiting game, as @jssailem said.

Lots of dreamers out there who look at boats but never buy one.

The real clue about scams is when they want you to pay for something in the process for on their behalf. Of course they promise to pay you back....
