Thanks Tim

I'm planning to use Buck Algonquin packing box hose. Still haven't decided on a PSS or sticking with the traditional system. The coupling is pretty rusty. Where would one find a new one if it is necessary? Universal M12 with a Hurth HBW-50 tranny, 3/4" SS shaft.

Rob, Hansen Marine in Marblehead, MA should have that coupling. Take it to a machine shop along with your shaft to ensure it is fitted properly.

I would go for the PSS. It is a little more pricey but to have a dry bilge is worth it.

It's a little closer than Marblehead and they did good work. Alternately you can just buy on line. http://www.deepblueyachtsupply.com/ has decent prices.

You could also have a local marine shop face the coupling for you, but I'd really recommend new. In either case, be sure that the fit between the coupling and shaft is good. Check out Maine Sails video in this thread. http://forums.beneteau.sailboatowners.com/showthread.php?t=114254
