Epoxy vs Poly paints

What type of paint should be put on the outside deck of a sailboat? I know a fella who put epoxy on his and it looks/stands up great although it wasant that long ago. Ive heard that 2 part poly wouldnt fade badly, but I also have heard that epoxy's pigments keep it from fading. Also from what I read, epoxy is more flexible and is why I plan on putting inside the cabin.

Note: I dont care about a glossy finish, just something that is durable and looks decent.

Use Kiwi Grip (for non-skid) that is sold on this site.

2 part

A two part poly is most likely going to be the most durable but does cost a bit more than an epoxy. I'd consider a single package poly as maybe a best bang or the buck especially down below where it won't get a lot of wear and tear.

single part is easier to apply.....more forgiving. For below you can even save money and buy a deck and patio poly that will work great. I have used Kiwi grip on the non skid, and while it's a good lasting product -- I think I'd use something different if I were doing it again. I've seen some 'rubberized' type finishes or paint additives that give a rubber like quality to the paint that look a lot better.
