Epoxy Resin- Sanding & Finishing

Put in some Marine Tex the other day on some portions of the deck. Thought it would be simple to sand down. I have to be careful since it is on a rounded part of the deck . Bought some flexible sanding pads and started at it. An hour later I just strated to make some headway. Is there an easier way to sand these things so they are flush? Or what can I use to cut the sanding time down? Of course while I was sanding away I thought of all the things I should have and could have done in preparation so that this didn't happen. wet sand

i use black wet sanding paper so water will wash the dust away and keep the paper clean. i also use a sanding pad or a flat board with paper wrapped around it so you have more control. also, a palm sander will do nice. you may need a more course grit. 150 - 220.

Smooth to start.

Paul, use some wax paper to smooth over the initial patch and leave it in place until the epoxy is cured. This makes the patch a little more fair and easier to wet sand to a nice finish. A small piece of visqueen will also work on epoxy but not polyester. Use tape to hold the paper in place while drying.
