Epoxy pumps

Hi all,
I was using the old west systems epoxy on a house project and finished the cans. Is there a way to clean the epoxy hand pumps or just let them drip clean? I may not get to use them for a while.

I have let the pumps slowly drain, then put them into a Zip-Lock bag for future use WITH THE SAME EPOXY COMPONENT. I put the resin pump in one bag and the hardener pump in another. I'm not sure what you could to effectively flush them out. If any thing could be used for flushing, it would probably be two separate flushing agents.

I've used rubbibg alcohol to clean my fingers after working with it and it seems to clean up ok. West systems says to:

Clean resin or mixed epoxy residue with lacquer thinner, acetone or alcohol.

I'm thinking that would be good enough. :confused:

You don't need to do anything. Just cover the tops to keep the dust off. I have had them last 5-10 years with no other attention.

Lacquer thinner

Lacquer thinner has worked for me on other epoxies.
