epoxy cleanup

Finally got around to drilling those holes for the deck hardware and filling them with epoxy. Also epoxied some of the deck around the holes. Any ideas on getting epoxy off the cabin roof? Later, Mike

Hi Mike, I did the same and after the first hole realized that the clean-up would be a serious issue. I than put enough tape around the hole to catch my spills. This worked great and after an hour or so the tape was easily removed. Better luck the next time. Robert

Mike - Assuming you cleaned the surfaces before using the epoxy its going to be good and stuck. Anything that would eat the epoxy free would also damage the boat. That leaves mechanical methods. Chipping at it may work for you but I'd think you'd damage the boat that way too. So - you're going to have to sand. Use a very fine grit wet sanding paper, do it by hand, slowly and carefully, and you should be able to essentially erase the epoxy. Justin - O'day Owners' Web
