enlarging windows on a hunter 31

We are thinking of purchasing a hunter 31, 1984 whose windows have been modified. The new windows are one long window that spans the whole side of the cabin on both port and starboard side. Could this cause stress cracks in connection with the traveller and other rigging?Pitman

I think your best bet would be to give the Hunter factory a call and talk to them. I personally would not feel comfortable with this degree of modification, but it might also depend on your intended use of the vessel, and how good of a bargin it is. There is always a better boat for sale somewhere. It took us 6 months of research and searching to find ours. Before you lay out the bucks talk to the factory, and also a knowledgable surveyor.
