Enkes AR8 Winches

I'll admit I may have fallen prey to the "Ebay Special".. I purchased a pair of used Enkes AR8 winches at a fairly low price (thinking that the seller had no idea what he was essentially giving away). After tearing them apart, cleaning, greasing, and re-assembling them, only one of them seems to function properly. The other will work properly for a while but eventually one of the base prawls slips/jams. Below the shaft of each of the base prawls is a hole that looks like maybe there should be a post that slides up under each of the base prawls to support them. Does anyone know if this is the case? Perhaps it's just more worn than I thought..

Make sure there is no grease on the pawls. They should be oiled only. The gears get the grease.
